1. Reduction in Post-Study Work Duration

2. Increased Financial Requirements
International students are now required to demonstrate higher financial capability. For those studying in London, the monthly maintenance requirement has increased to £1,483, totaling £13,347 for a nine-month academic year. Outside London, the requirement is £1,136 per month.
3. Stricter English Language Proficiency Standards
Applicants for the Skilled Worker visa must now meet a higher English language proficiency level, increasing from B1 to B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
4. Limitations on Dependents
Only international students enrolled in postgraduate research programs or those with government-funded scholarships are permitted to bring dependents to the UK.
5. Extended Settlement Qualification Period
The period required to qualify for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) has been extended from five to ten years for most visa categories, including the Skilled Worker route.
6. Enhanced Institutional Compliance Requirements
Educational institutions sponsoring international students must now meet stricter compliance benchmarks, including a 95% enrolment rate and a 90% course completion rate. A Red-Amber-Green rating system has been introduced to monitor and enforce these standards.
